Why Stretching Doesn't Help Low Back Pain

Like most health states, low back pain is a long-term difficulty. Patients with lumbar pain generally suffer off and on for years. Back problem generally seems to come on when we over-exert or do some thing out of the normal, like moving boxes or when returning to your sport we have not attempted since our high school days.

Most individuals will state that stretching seems to prevent issues and harms from the activities of day-to-day living. The weekend warrior and the day-to-day athlete will attest to the benefits of extending before the task.

But extending is generally not a good treatment plan when the soreness comes on. Exactly why is that? Why is some thing entirely useless as a cure and so effective for preventing a difficulty? However, some patients are lucky. Through learning from mistakes, they may discover that the stretching really causes their pain in the back to improve. But over the years its effectiveness diminishes. Some patients will say that their regular pre-activity reaches truly make the hurting get much worse.

Stretching is developed to lengthen muscles and tendons, but back pains commonly change the ligaments along with the disks. The issue here is that the ligaments are stretched-out, permitting the bones to creep into abnormal spots. So while stretching may aid a good muscle, its impact on ligaments can be damaging.

Another factor to consider is that the delicate nerves of the low spine cross the disc regions.
